1.)  Key concepts I learned from the first video were that there are different materials used for sculpting. I learned that it is rare that they are asked to carve a full statue because there is so much detail to it. I also learned the sculpture has a set way that they have to do the sculpting. The most interesting thing I learned is how sculptures know if the material is good to use or not. They do this by listening to the sound it makes. They have to make sure there are no cracks in it, because if there is then they can’t use that piece.
Key concepts I learned from the second video are that glass is used in our daily lift more than we think about. We use glass in light bulbs, in our cups, and dishes, as well as many other objects that we use daily. Glass is made from sand, which is actually something that I didn’t know. I liked this video because it described how glass is made and showed detail of how it is made. It’s really interesting to see how it is shaped and the different colors. It takes time to make it exactly the shape it needs to be and can be reheated in order to fix the shape. Different tools are used to shape the glass. It’s interesting that the heat doesn’t melt the glass. The stain glassmaker is different than just the regular class maker. When stain glassing, they may paint it to get the color they want the stained glass window.

2.)  The videos relates to the text because they talk about the different materials that are used for sculpting, which some are the same that were discussed in the book. The book was nice at describing detail to how to use the material in sculpting, but the video showed it actually being done. Glass and sculpting were discussed in both the book and the videos. I liked watching the videos more because I could see the glass and sculpting in action. It’s easier to create a picture that way because it’s right there on the screen. Also, listening to it and hearing it then seeing how it is done is easier in learning the process.

3.) The videos were helpful in seeing sculptures. It was easier to create an image of sculptures because the videos showed them being done. Sculpting is actually more difficult than it looks. It takes a lot of time and patience. I liked how the videos showed actual people who were sculptors and their viewing on sculpting, as well as why they began sculpting in the first place.  I liked the second video as well in seeing how glass is made. I discovered that all this art takes a lot of time and that glass it used in daily life more than I would of thought.
